FAQ

Q: What is a FAQ?
A: FAQ is an acronym for "frequently asked questions."

Q: How do I get in contact with you in the fastest way possible?
A: Our about us page has an email area that goes directly to us at any given point.  We can respond quickly from there at any time during regular business hours Monday thru Friday (8am - 5pm Central Standard Time).  Contact made after regular business hours or on the weekends will be responded to promptly on the following business day.

Q: What sort of information do you need to make a Shawl or Ribbon shirt for someone?
A: It is incredibly helpful if you know your own family lineage, clan or tradition that you follow.  Each piece is handmade in prayer with that in mind.  Colors, animals, ribbons and fringe are all a part of showing on the outside who you and your family are on the inside.  When you know that, creation of a Shawl or a Ribbon shirt is very easy.  When you are beginning that process, it may take some time to be clear on what it is that you want.

Now, when it comes down to pragmatic information that is needed?  Start with your Measurements:  Chest/Bust, Shoulder to shoulder, Arm length, Fingertip to Fingertip across your back, Waist, Height, Hip Measurments will all go into what is needed.  Please have these handy when you request an item.  Our sizes are listed on each page and you will find that you 'fit in to' a specific size by the range of what is listed.  Keep in mind that our sizes are NOT what you will find off the racks in a department store, but reflect the true measurements of your own body.  Also keep in mind what you will be using the item for--A Sweat Lodge dress will need to be roomy enough for you to sit comfortably on the ground, with your knees bent and legs behind you.

Typically, Shawls too are measured from fingertip to fingertip across the young woman's back.  A good standby if you do not have the measurements will be the 60" x 60" measurement that most shawls come in.  Our shawls can be and are used for fancy shawl dancing--altho we at present do not typically decorate them with ribbonwork, etc.  For most of your Traditional and Ceremonial Needs, they will do very well.
